Mapping
Leader : UPM
The objective of this project is to prepare a skills map for additive manufacturing (AM) and benchmark with AM expert companies to evaluate the status of the industry.
Methodology:
• Benchmark questions are being prepared.
• The status of the industry is being evaluated by benchmarking with AM expert companies.
• Benchmark information is being collected and summarized.
• Main roles in AM are being defined and agreed upon with the team.
• Roles are being agreed upon with the team (partner representatives).
• A working team is being built for role-based competency definition workshops.
• Workshops are being organized with the target audience to ask benchmarking questions.
• A draft skill map is being sent to 500 people to gather inputs.
• Feedback about roles and skill matrix is being collected.
• Current competency levels in their networking areas are being evaluated.
• Outputs are being summarized and a skill map draft is being prepared.
• Critical skill map is being prepared.
• AM Operator, Production Engineer, and Designer competency profiles are being compared and finalized with IAMQS Standards.

Description: Analyzing the design, engineering and behavioral competencies of AM technology will serve to create the contents that will provide the systematic development required for manufacturing. The skills and knowledge required for the effective deployment of AM technologies can only be obtained based on a literature review and evidence gathered from multi-stakeholder studies. In order to obtain this evidence, the opinions of universities, educational institutions and SMEs who will benefit from these abilities will be taken. The objective of this project is to prepare a skills map for additive manufacturing (AM) and benchmark with AM expert companies to evaluate the status of the industry.
